Developer: Fırat Öncü Şener · App: Socializer (Android: com.socializer.app · iOS: com.oncusener.socializer)

This page explains how to delete your Socializer account and the data linked to it, what is deleted right away and what is kept for a while longer. There are two ways: delete it yourself in the app, or send us an email.
Deletion happens immediately and you are signed out. It cannot be undone, and the account cannot be signed into again.
If you are stuck on the phone verification screen (for example because your founding member perk has ended and you haven't verified your number yet), you can't reach the menu. In that case tap the Delete my account link at the bottom of that screen and confirm the warning with Delete My Account; it is exactly the same process as above.
If you can't access the app (you changed phones, uninstalled the app or your account was suspended), you can send your request by email:
Use the subject line Account Deletion Request and include your account's nickname and, if you verified it, your phone number. If you never verified your phone (for example because you used the app as a founding member without verification), include your founding member number instead; it is shown only to you, in the menu and on the Edit Profile screen. We may ask for extra information to confirm that the account is yours. We will complete the request within 30 days and confirm it to you in writing. We carry out your request in our admin panel with exactly the same process as the app's Delete Account Permanently, so your account is deleted to the same extent as an in-app deletion (sections 4 and 5 below).
For a broader request, just write to the address above.
The moment you delete your account, the following is permanently deleted:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your profile photos, their thumbnails and your avatar | The database records and the files on our server are deleted together |
| Bio and date of birth | Deleted |
| Your nickname | Replaced with an anonymous value; cannot be restored |
| Verification details | Your badge and verification status are deleted. If a verification photo of yours is still waiting for review, it is deleted together with its file. |
| Messages you sent | Deleted. Exception: your messages in chats with an open report between you are kept until the review is finished, at most 180 days after the match ended, and then deleted. |
| Your eye contacts | Both the ones you sent and the ones you received are deleted |
| Notifications | Your notifications, and notifications about you in other people's lists, are deleted |
| Blocks | The people you blocked and your venue-level block records are deleted |
| Your check-in locations | The GPS position is removed from all your check-ins; an open check-in is closed |
| Your push tokens (the address used to send notifications to your device) | Deleted; no more notifications are sent to your device. Pending notification delivery records are deleted too. |
| Your invite code | Disabled; nobody can sign up with your link any more, and no invite rewards build up for you |
| Your matches | All of them end |
| Your device sign-in key and session | Invalidated; the account can't be signed into again |
| Data | How long and why |
|---|---|
| Your phone number (encrypted), the lookup hash of your phone number and your device ID | 6 months. To make it harder for someone who broke the rules to delete their account and start over straight away with the same number, and to stop venue blocks tied to the device ID from being bypassed with a new account. During this time the same number can't be verified on a new account. If you never verified your phone (for example because you used the app as a founding member without verification), there is no number to keep; only your device ID remains. |
| Venue blocks tied to your device ID | 6 months. Deleted together with the device ID. If another account uses the same device, they are kept because they protect that account too. |
| Report and moderation records (including staff notes about the account) | Kept for user safety, linked to the anonymised account. Once the phone number and device ID are deleted after 6 months, these records can no longer be linked to you. |
| Messages the other person sent you | Because the match ends when you delete your account, they are deleted within 24 hours. If there is an open report between you, they are kept until the review is finished, at most 180 days after the match ended, and deleted once it is closed. |
| Check-in and match records | Kept without location or message content (venue, mode and time only), linked to the anonymised account and used for venue statistics. |
| SMS sending and verification records | Not linked to your account; kept only with a hash of your phone number. Verification code records are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and SMS sending records after 180 days, which we keep to limit SMS abuse. |
| Other fields of the account record (your settings, last online time, Premium and founding member details, your disabled invite code and who invited you, daily message and photo moderation counters) | Kept, linked to the anonymised account; they contain no name, phone number or photo. |
| Purchase and subscription records (if any) | Kept, linked to the anonymised account, for the period required by tax and accounting law. |
After 6 months: 180 days after your account is deleted, the phone number, phone hash and device ID on the account record are deleted automatically by a job that runs every night; you don't need to ask. From then on, the anonymised account record can't be matched to your phone number or device. If you want this data deleted before then, write to the address above; we will assess your request under the KVKK and let you know the outcome.
In addition, where a legal obligation requires it (for example an official request as part of a criminal investigation), the relevant records may be kept for the period set by law. In that case we will inform you if we are legally allowed to.
