Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) · Last updated: 22 October 2026
Socializer is for adults aged 18 and over only. We have zero tolerance for child
sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). When such content
or behaviour is found, the account is closed immediately and permanently, and the matter is
reported to the authorities.
1. What is prohibited
Creating, sharing, requesting, storing or pointing others to child sexual abuse material
(CSAM).
Sexual communication with a minor, or gaining a minor's trust in order to abuse them
(grooming).
Any content or language that sexualises minors.
Sextortion, child trafficking, or any attempt to arrange a meeting with a minor.
A person under 18 using the app, or helping someone under 18 to use it.
2. Age limit
We ask for the date of birth at sign-up; people under 18 cannot create an account.
Accounts found or suspected to belong to someone under 18 are reviewed and closed.
The 18+ requirement is stated clearly in our Terms of Use.
3. Preventive measures
Photo moderation: every uploaded photo is checked automatically with Google
Cloud Vision. Photos containing nudity are rejected and never stored; borderline ones are
held for review by our staff before they go live.
Text filter: nicknames and bios are filtered automatically for sexual and
inappropriate language.
Limited chat: photos, videos and files cannot be sent in chat; only two
matched people can talk, by text, for a few minutes. Sending messages requires a profile
verified with a selfie.
Location privacy: users can't see each other's location. New people only
come across each other in Discover while checked in at the same venue; the app has no
people search and no public profile list.
4. Reporting in the app
If you think a user is putting a child's safety at risk:
Tap the menu icon on their profile card in Discover (⋯), at the top of the
chat screen or in the Who Looked At You list (⋮) and choose Report. On an
incoming eye contact you can also use the Block or report link.
Choose the Child safety category and send.
Child safety reports go to a priority queue and our staff are alerted immediately. You will not
run into the person you reported anywhere in the app again. If you can't access the app, send
your report to oncu.sener@gmail.com
with the subject "Child Safety".
5. Review and enforcement
Child safety reports are handled before all other reports and reviewed within 24 hours.
When a violation is confirmed, the content is removed and the account is
permanently closed without warning.
The phone number linked to a closed account can't be verified on another account. If we
find that the owner of a closed account has come back with a new one, we close that
account too.
The chat concerned is not deleted while the review is open (for up to 180 days after the
match ended). Where a report to the authorities is needed, we pass the necessary records
to them before the review is closed.
6. Reporting to the authorities
When we find CSAM or receive information that a child is in danger, we report it to the
competent authorities:
Türkiye:İhbar Web, the cybercrime
units of the Turkish National Police (Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü) and public prosecutors'
offices.
International: where appropriate, the
CyberTipline of the US National Center for Missing
& Exploited Children (NCMEC).
We respond to requests from law enforcement and judicial authorities within the legal framework.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number right away
(112 in Türkiye and the EU). You can also report content directly at
ihbarweb.org.tr or the
CyberTipline.
7. Legal compliance
We comply with the Turkish Criminal Code (in particular Article 103 on the sexual abuse of
children and Article 226 on obscenity), Law No. 5651 and other applicable legislation. We also
follow Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
